Beverly Thomas Jenkins
Mosaic Artist, Oil, and Acrylic Painter

I am the middle child of artistic parents, born in Austin, Texas in 1957. In 1963 my parents made a fabulous 7' x 4' mosaic table that we used as our dining room table (sometimes with short legs it was our coffee table). I still have that table and use it in my studio.

Mosaics have always been in the back of my mind, but in 2006 I sat down and made my first mosaic. I then set up my little studio and have not stopped, art/mosaic is in my veins. As I grow and learn in mosaics I am profoundly in awe of this medium. It is so versatile hence I never tire of making the next one. I have found that like life, all the little pieces of glass and found objects fit together to become one great thing!

I have also started painting using water soluble oils and sometimes acrylics, painting is a joy like no other.

Expanding my wings and trying new things has always been my way. Teaching and giving back to our community are also a part of my life. We have a community Art Center, The McKinney Art Center, this is where I teach. I love teaching and watching people grow.

In the not so distant past my husband and I started a Cafe & Catering business and our children own it now... going strong since 1982.
